Introducing The Reed Group to the New England and North Coast School Communities

As part of the Commonwealth's $42bn Nation Building Economic Stimulus Package, The Reed Group has been appointed the Department of Education's Managing Contractor for the New England and North Coast regions.

Up to 355 million dollars will be spent on schools in your region over the next two years, as well as funds to be spent on independent schools and additional funding from the NSW Government's existing programs.

The Reed Group's responsibilities will include understanding the scope of works and the risks for timely delivery at your school, finding the best way to procure the services and supplies your school's program will require while ensuring all planning approvals are achieved.

The Reed Group General Manager, Garth Graydon says, "The success of this program calls on the co-operation of the project team, the community and schools to work together towards the common goal."

"The programming of each project will be determined by each school specific brief, where upon The Reed Group will meet with the relevant local and government representatives to develop the program for building works. The Reed Group will work with local representatives to provide opportunities for apprenticeships and secure local jobs while reporting on the timeliness and the quality of the work being done throughout the delivery of the project to the NSW Nation Building and Jobs Plan Taskforce."

The Reed Group has a strong track record of project delivery in the New England and North Coast regions including the Lismore Police Station, Lismore Base Hospital Mental Health Unit Redevelopment, the Nundle Water Treatment Plant, Kendall Public School and Link Road projects in the Port Macquarie region, and the Mid North Coast Integrated Cancer Care Services at Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie Hospitals.

Information about the status of projects in the New England and Coast regions will be posted regularly to this page. If you have a query please call us at head office in Sydney on 02-9965-0399 or send an email to Berproject@reedgroup.com.au
