Reed's successful charity campaign "Try Scoring A Wish" this year granted the following children's wishes through the Starlight Children's Foundation. The $100,000 donation from Reed and the community has brightened the lives of following seriously ill children and their families throughout Australia.
Here some of the wishes that have been granted through the "Try Scoring A Wish" campaign:
Emily, Age: 11, Condition: Crohn's Disease
Her wish was to go to Heron Island for a wildlife experience. Emily said "I read that it's a very relaxing place. I love being in the company of wildlife and snorkelling, it's something i really wanted to do".
This year she was given an underwater camera and had snorkelling lessons and went on a boat trip.
Rodney, Age: 18, Condition: Spina Bifida
His passion is fishing and finally he was given a "Barramundi Fishing Adventure"with his family in tropical Cairns. His 5-night holiday included fishing charters with a local award-winning sports fishing company.
Caitlyn, Age: 5, Condition: Systemic Juvenile Arthritis
"My wish is for my arthritis to go away so that I won't be in any more pain. I would like a spa because it would help my legs to get moving". As part of her wish, Caitlyn was given a spa, a pool pony, Havaianas thongs and a pair of slippers.
Maria, Age: 17, Condition: Cerebral Palsy
Maria loves watching movies and television shows. Thanks to Reed, her wish became a reality. She now enjoys a new television entertainment set and a dvd gift voucher.
Nicholas, Age: 12, Condition: Muscular Dystrophy
Nicholas is a computer engineer in the making. His wish was to have equipment to assist him with computer engineering. He was provided with the latest computer equipment and technology, which included software, printing equipment and ongoing training to develop his skills.
A big thanks to Reed for bringing some Starlight magic into the lives of these children and their family.
We all here at Reed are proud to have been able to help these children and look forward to making more wishes come true for sick kids next year.
